Course 09 · Lesson 7 of 19
Card 1: Paiger (UK recruitment)
- Their pitch: "The AI Revenue Platform for Recruitment Agencies": posts in each consultant's own voice, approved "with one tap by text", plus business development, candidate marketing and contact finding (paiger.co, 14 Oct 2026) [V].
- Our edge: governance across the whole firm (rules checked before every post, approval chains, client sign-off, activity log), Holly under per-person autonomy, and every team in the business.
- Ask: "When a consultant approves a post by text, what record does a manager or compliance see afterwards, and can anyone stop a post before it goes?"
- Where they win: you will not beat Paiger on own voice or approval alone, or on price for the posting module. Recruitment workflows beyond social (branded CVs, vacancies on consultants' profiles, a Business Development module with market signals and daily briefings, contact finding). Cheaper per head for posting alone: £48.30 against our open-band price (£69 while Spark is open; confirm the band with John that day). Track record: APSCo Innovation of the Year 2019 (PR Newswire, 15 Nov 2022) [P]; in APSCo's partner directory with a member offer (listing dated 7 Oct 2026) [A].
- Where we win (GREEN): rules before posting and approval chains, not only a tap (policy checks with one-click rewrites, compliance oversight, multi-stage approvals, notes pinned on lines, client sign-off by link, activity log); intelligence for posting in every seat (news feeds, any website followed, morning list, meeting ideas, Watch). Be precise: Paiger sells market signals and daily briefings too, in a separate Business Development module from £199 a month (paiger.co/pricing, 14 Oct 2026) [V], built for business development. Ours gives people something worth posting about: a different job, included; never claim ours is better intelligence. Also Holly with autonomy set per consultant; every team in one place; no automatic renewals, always followed by the D18 terms wording; used every working day inside a recruitment business owned by one of the founders.
- Landmines: lead with the text-approval question. Then "What checks a post against your own policy before it goes out?" "Which of their modules would you need for posting plus market signals, and what does that come to a year?" "Who outside the consultants should be visible, and does the tool cover them?"
- If they say:
- "We already use Paiger." Say: "Then you already believe consultants should be visible. What's it doing well, and where are the gaps?"
- "Paiger does own voice now." Say: "It does, and they deserve credit. So the question is what happens between the draft and the post: who checks it against your rules, who signs it off, and what record you've got if a client asks."
- "Paiger is cheaper." Say: "For posting on its own, it is. Our seat is [price] a month on the founding band that's open today. For that you get the rules check, approval chains, the intelligence and Holly, for everyone in the business. If posting is all you need, it might be the right call."
- "Paiger finds us contacts and leads." Say: "Different job, and if it's working, keep it. We'll show you who's engaging with your posts so you know who to talk to first, but we're not a contact database."
- Never say: "Paiger posts without review" (out of date since the relaunch); "doesn't do own voice", "has no approvals", "doesn't do market intelligence"; any Paiger churn, customer count or pricing gossip from anyone but Paiger; anything framing people who engage as candidates or talent (LinkedIn's developer terms name "prospective talent for hire" as a prohibited use of member data; research, not legal advice; D1 open); any APSCo endorsement for Maktura; that Maktura is month to month with no commitment.
- Switch story: the standard switch kit, with scheduled posts brought across by bulk import. Then the D18 wording before they sign. Mid-term? Do not push them to break it: time the start to their renewal, and say plainly that founding rates close on 31 December or when the band fills.
- Reference (paiger.co/pricing, 14 Oct 2026, GBP ex VAT) [V]: Business Development £199, £349 or £699 a month; Personal Brand and Content £48.30 per consultant; other modules priced separately. Setup from £150; 20% off for annual billing; every plan a 12-month term. The "£149 platform fee" on review sites is out of date. Buyers: owners and sales directors of UK recruitment agencies.
