Course 10 · Lesson 3 of 12
Who may agree what
The layers apply to whoever sells. If unsure, it sits in the higher layer.
| Layer | What sits here |
|---|---|
| Anyone selling | The price and rules above; the open band (confirmed that day); labelled illustrations; recommending one starting seat count. Never send the legal pack yourself: "I'll get you our data processing terms and the current position in writing from our team." |
| John Cooper | A live seats-remaining figure; band-boundary orders; give-get trades marked "John"; invoices and payment methods; VAT on a quote; routing agencies; whether a deal is ready to paper; sending the published legal pack, once Karl confirms it is accurate (D27) |
| Alex or John only | Any trial, unpaid pilot or proof of concept; a paid pilot's shape (D17); the charity tier; any Standard price above one licence (D14); agency arrangements; Founding Design Partner places (D4); any prospect connected to another business a founder owns or advises (stop and ask first) |
| Alex only | Any concession outside the give-get table, in writing; a large overseas customer; a money-back guarantee (none unless D21 puts one in the terms) |
| Karl Foster ("our legal team") | Any written assurance on data, data sources, LinkedIn terms, security or certification; AI disclosure (D9) |
| Dom (through John) | Confirming company page publishing before its price is quoted |
| Nobody, ever | A discount, rounded price, waived month or free seat; a discount code (D16); a commission figure (D19); white label or reselling; a build commitment; any launch, delivery or roadmap date; reopening a band or moving 31 December; an intermediate Standard step; internal agency placeholders; any internal figure (targets, cost to serve, running cost, margin including "it costs us almost nothing", valuation, funding, ownership, pay, exit, another founder business, payout terms). If asked: "That's not something I can share." |
