Course 10 · Lesson 11 of 12
Checks before quoting, and papering a deal
Before a number leaves your mouth in a proposal meeting, and every time one goes in writing:
- Band and prices. Open band confirmed with John today; prices only from this chapter; no company page charge until Dom confirms; arithmetic checked against the tables.
- Four things before signature. Rate holds while subscribed; the anti-gaming line; the D18 wording; what forfeits the founding rate.
- Banned words. "locked", "for life", "no add-ons", "list price", "standard price", "typical price", "save X%", "discount", "six platforms", "buy it on the site".
- Seat counts only from live billing, read today, with the time. Illustrations labelled and worked at the open band.
- Nothing you cannot give. No date but 31 December; nothing only John, Alex, Karl or Dom can give; VAT as John confirmed; no names of customers, partners or prospects.
Then paper it: confirm the band with John; send the quote; John sets the buyer up and payment is taken at sign-up; hand over with the SPICED record and agreed first success (see the customer success playbook).
