The alternatives frame (no competitor names)
Use near the end of a first conversation, or in step 2 of the 5-minute version. It is a reason to choose, never a reason to panic.
"Here's how I'd think about it. The real choice isn't between us and another piece of software. It's between five or six ways of handling this, and each one is fine for something.
Doing nothing costs nothing this month and a lot in three. Pasting from ChatGPT gets you a draft, but no voice per person, no rules, no approvals and no idea how it landed. A ghostwriter or agency is good for one or two senior people, but doesn't reach the whole team. A scheduler handles the company page, but one vendor's study of 517,000 posts, their own data, found personal posts got about nine times the engagement of reshared company content. Asking staff to reshare company posts gets low uptake; people don't want to be a noticeboard.
Maktura is for the case where you want everyone client-facing visible, every week, sounding like themselves, inside your rules, without it costing hours. If that's not your situation, one of the others may genuinely suit you better, and I'd rather tell you that now."
If a buyer names a competitor: answer, but never raise one first, disparage, or repeat second-hand figures (Battlecards).
Why now, said as fact, not threat (pick one, with its source):
- LinkedIn now lets members report posts that "seem like AI slop", and press reports of LinkedIn's figures say flagged posts see roughly 40% fewer views (30 July 2026; Moneywise, TechCrunch, Social Media Today).
- Roughly 5% of buyers are in market at any one time, on the LinkedIn B2B Institute's estimate (2021; an estimate, not a measurement).
- Edelman and LinkedIn B2B Thought Leadership Impact Report 2025 (co-funded by LinkedIn, so treat as direction): 79% of decision makers are more likely to back a vendor in a tender if it consistently publishes good expert content.
Then finish on: "Silence does not hold your place. It hands it to whoever is still posting." Supporting points, said as our view, not as data: "Buyers check before they call. A dormant profile doesn't read as neutral; it reads as a business that's gone quiet." / "Talent goes where it can see people."
